Abstract
Abstract: After more than 500 years in Ottoman territories, the Sephardim were able to integrate into Ottoman society but at the same time conserving their own identity. The original Jews of Sepharad settled in the most diverse points of the Ottoman Empire, among them in the city of Ankara. As this community is not particularly important, it has not been the object of intense attention by researchers, however this community has had its own historical, sociocultural and economic identity and that is what is intended to be investigated and established with project 6602c-FEN/19-262, 2019-2022, The Almost Extinct Sephardic Community in Ankara: A Cultural, Artistic and Linguistic Heritage from Past to Present, in which this work is framed. Among its different partial objectives, the first was to establish what had been worked on the Jews of Ankara, a community that has practically disappeared today but should not be forgotten. This article is the result of collecting and examining what has been researched and published about this community. The search has been carried out in primary and secondary sources. This work will include both scientific and outreach work.
