Abstract
This article collects the testimonies contained in the memoir writings of the Sephardim that refer to play, in its most varied forms. Children, adults, and the elderly engage in their practices with fervor and willingness, not always with the intention of «winning» —money or favors, most of the time— but simply as a pastime, in an exercise of the oriental virtuosity of pasar la ora (pass the time).
